Event Details

Social Enterprise North West in Partnership with The Social Enterprise Coalition will be hosting a half  day event designed to inform the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community about the business opportunities available to them through social enterprise.

This event will focus and examine the specific issues around BAME-led community organisations: highlighting various social enterprise business models; showcasing the people behind them and provide everyone attending an opportunity to feedback, discuss and network.

Key Note Speaker - Caryl Agard is Executive Director of The Social Business Company, a social enterprise established as a vehicle to develop and support individuals and communities, and Chair of Voice 4 Change, the national voice for the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Third Sector.

Caryl has been working in social and economic development for twenty years, during which he has gained considerable experience in developing social and community enterprises within deprived communities.

This conference aims to:

·         Bring BAME individuals, groups and organisations together, which are either considering setting up a social enterprise, or are an existing social enterprise.

·         Provide a platform for BAME social enterprises to learn from each other; to develop partnerships; and to work together.

·         Explore further ways of dealing with any existing barriers to the development of BAME social enterprise growth.

·         Provide a platform to find out and learn more about the different forms of social enterprise.

Who should attend?
